Study of Gully from Battle Chasers

Joe Madureira is probably my favorite artist along Kinu Nishimura. Here is the study of Gully from his Battle Chasers comics. I hope he will finish it someday, it is a great fantasy comic inspired by Japanese videogames and anime series and I just love it.

 

 

Test recording for my first lesson: Chun Li

Here is the drawing proces of Chun Li head I recorede in Open Canvas. I am testing the best way to create an video tutorial, I will probably slow down some parts and speed up some others

Open Canvas Shortcuts

Open Canvas is my drawing software of choice, not only it is much cheaper then Photoshop but it is also faster and more fluid which is essential when drawing. One small problem is that there is not much English documentation as it is Japanese product so it could be hard to find shortcuts. Here is the list of shortcuts I found online, thanks to dragonbones.net

w = magic wand

t = text / text mask

i = eye dropper

p = fill rectangle / ellipse / polygon / lasso

a = pencil / pencil former

s = eraser / eraser former / magic eraser

d = paintbrush / paintbrush former

f = airbrush / airbrush former

h = dodge / burn

Concept of Manga 3D Form

I have created this simple 3D manga head in Zbrush to illustrate the concept of 3D form. It is quite simple, all you need to understand
